Corporate and Workplace vaccination is the provision of vaccinations to employees, administered either at one of our MediClinic practices in Guildford (Surrey) or Wimbledon (South West London), or at the companies premises. There are numerous illnesses and diseases which can be vaccinated against and MediClinic can provide the following:
FLU VACCINE Flu can spread very easily especially in a closed office environment. It is very easy to lose half of your workforce to illness in the flu season. The flu vaccination offers efficient protection to your employees both during travel, and while in the workplace. MediClinic no longer has the 2009 /10 Flu vaccine in stock however we are taking bookings for the 2010/11 season. See our Flu Page for more details. Please contact us for pricing.
HEPATITIS A and TYPHOID These are easily spread by contaminated food and water. There is a saying that your food is only as clean as the person who prepared its o you could become infected in even top end restaurants. The vaccines are highly recommended for frequent travellers and especially for people involved in the business buying department as they will be exposed to unpredictable environments.
HEPATITIS B IMMUNITY TESTING and VACCINATIONS
This
virus is spread by blood and body fluids. Chances are that if you are
a frequent traveller you will need medical care at some stage even if
it is for a mild bacterial infection. Not all countries require their
medical practitioners to be protected from Hepatitits B. Protect
yourself by having the vaccine before you go travelling. The UK health service requires that all clinical practitioners have immunity against Hepatitis B and that their status be regularly monitored by coimpleting immunity testing. MediClinic will be able to provide the of Hepatitis B Immunity testing and provision of the Hepatitis B vaccines either at the clinics, or if there are sufficient numbers, at your place of work.
See our Hepatitis B Page for further details
TETANUS, DIPHTHERIA, POLIO – combined vaccine There has recently been an increase in the number of patients with polio in the third world. Polio is spread by dirty water and is easy to contract. Considering the devastating effects it makes sense to protect yourself.
RABIES Rabies is a viral infection that can quickly cause death. The vaccine buys you 24 hours of time to get to a medical facility so your wounds can be cared for and the post exposure treatment can be started. It is strongly recommended for people travelling to areas with less access to medical care. It is also recommended for people working with animals.
MENINGITIS Meningitis can cause sporadic outbreaks and epidemics which are unpredictable. Travellers are at risk if they are in close prolongedc ontact with the indigenous population. Outbreaks have also been known to occur in schools and colleges.
YELLOW FEVER Yellow Fever is a viral infection passed on by mosquito bites. It occurs in Sub-Saharan Africa and in South America. There is no definitive treatment for the illness and symptoms are managed when they occur. Some countries require a vaccination certificate before you are allowed to enter them and we are will provide you with this certificate vaccination. MediClinic is a NaTHNaC Registered Yellow Fever vaccination centre. See our Yellow Fever Vaccination Page for more information on Yellow Fever.
MMR/ VARICELLA (Chickenpox) Immunity to measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox are a requirement to work in a healthcare environments both to protect yourself and the patients. MediClinic is able to offer monitoring of this status.
